The Democrats job, the one that they get money for from the corporations is to keep pounding on this immigration issue to make themselves look bad.
Most Americans are not racist, or they do not go out of there way to be racist or support racism. I think most Americans just do not want to see what happened in CA happen to the whole country, where there are more Mexicans, or people of Latin descent than what most people think of as regular Americans.
The problem is that there are 2 reasons the corporations and Republicans support immigration.
1. To keep wages low.
2. To dis-unify the people, that is to instill a racial overtone so the people do not unify and take back control of the democracy.
This is what Democrats get paid to do – lose gracefully, while they try to maintain hope and pretend there is some kind of social unity in the country.
No one really cares about immigration as a major issue, but most Americans feel that immigration should be regulated and low.
I'd go so far as to say most Americans, including Democrats would go with separating families if it worked to send a message to other people back in other countries to stop sending people here. If it did not last to long and if it worked.
The problem is that industry and corporations want those people to do 2 things.
1. Work for starvation wages.
2. Exist to cause workers dis-unity so they cannot work together and unionize.
The monied interests in the US pool their money and contribute to both sides of the aisle … the Republicans are the authoritarian bad cops, and the Democrats are the hopeful good cops, and the media spins the storied like a TV series to keep people engages in the stories, but more or less out of politics.
Yes, and as mentioned below the US is responsible for the mess in South and Central America — and specifically the rich Americans who are still running the country today based on the money they stole from other countries and taxes they do not pay here.
10:13 – "Democrats shouldn't downplay the idea that there is a crisis at the border …"
EXACTLY …. Democrats are deliberately fragmenting their base in order to keep Trump in office and the corporations to do whatever they want – which also will mean to continue to allow immigrants to come in to undercut wages.
Because if Republicans really gave a damn about limiting immigration they would tighten up the security on Social Security and ID and checks for citizenship and right to work in this country. If they did that, then no one would be coming here to work, because it would not be possible.
11:21 – "Who creates these caravans I would not be surprised to find some Trump supporter putting up the money to create these caravans because it's a great issue"
Again … probably very likely this is fake news, created to manipulate the issue.
It's not the illegal aliens per se that are the problem. As mentioned they provide cheap labor, and almost slave class of labor to make profits for big agriculture, who also uses up all our water – and at a cheap price.
They used to have the Brasero Program I think it was called, where temporary workers would come into the country – and then leave. I don't like the idea of this slave class of labor, but that kind of worked.
What happens otherwise is that we have gotten huge populations of Mexican Americans that have taken over CA. All the restaurant jobs are Mexicans or Latin Americans now, all the theater attendents, cashiers, Supermarket workers … and they keep having children and pretty soon they are competing for everyone else's jobs – that are now dwindling.
Why wouldn't American workers have a problem with that? Why wouldn't the American taxpayer have a problem accepting people moving into the area in massive numbers, and having to pay for their health care, education, law enforcement.and paying to create more workers who will be competing with them, and costing them tax money?
26:21 – Bernie Sanders' supporters to do not see Bernie as Trump supporters see Trump … that is a totally BS statement.
The question with Swallwel is why is he running? Who is putting up the money that thinks he can beat any of the other candidates, or even distinguish himself so that he gets some name recognition? Why throw away all the money and time it takes to run for President and the focus it takes away from being a working member of the government? What is Swallwel's point … is he being paid to go in and attack certain other candidates or guide the campaign in a certain way?
If Biden has not had the brains and sensitivity to realize that touching people and sniffing them makes at least some of them uncomfortable and it is not the thing to do by now being over age 70, then how the hell can he represent the people of the country as President? Answer is that he cannot, and that he has been representing corporations in the corporate state of Delaware where corporations to go fake-incorporate so they can cheat other states out of tax money. Biden has been in government for what – 40 years, and he has never done anything of note, and he has no real ideas of what to do. No, Biden is bad.
The other thing about Biden's touching reaction is that he made the joke that the little boy gave him permission to touch him, and that brings up again how clueless he is since a little boy cannot really give permission … he was using that poor kid as a crutch. No, Biden, like most of our fake leaders is another corporate shill in there to represent the establishment who is going way to far in every way and hurting the people of the US.
33:12 – Nevious says Nancy Pelosi had it correct, it is not what you do it is how it was received.
Kamala Harris was totally NOT effective in her questioning in Senate hearings. She came off as shrill, rude, and most of all unprepared. Somehow just the image of a women looking angry and talking like a man was supposed to help her image? Not to me it didn't. Harris is one of the only establishment candidates left, so that is why they are talking her up. She is pulling an Obama … using her race to pretend she is more Liberal or Progressive than she really is and then if she gets elected after 8 years of a mild Republican agenda people will realize they have been fooled again..

Hahahaha, if I had to put my feelings about immigration in Trumpian terms to deny feeling racist or being racist, I guess I'd say, "I love minorities that are already here, not minorities that are trying to get in". But that would also got for white people as well, from Russia or Europe, or wherever. Enough people in the USA. Bring immigration totals down a lot. That is what I am for, and I think that is what a lot of Americans are for, and I think that is what the British people are for as well. It's too much, and it works against social cohesiveness and creates unrest to have too many non-intergrated people in our societies. I also consider myself a Liberal, Leftist, and a Progressive.
We need more of these roundtables … like at least 1 per week.
