Thanks for watching. You may have noticed we left out one scenario here: Democratic House, Republican Senate. That one, according to basically all polls, has almost no chance of happening — but if it did, it would be extremely similar to scenario 3, in which Republicans take both houses. In both cases Republicans would be unable to enact legislation, but could block must-pass legislation, hold committee hearings, and would have the power to hold up judges.
If you want a deeper look at some of the topics in this video, check out our video on the debt ceiling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orakE9t1tpo
And our video on how Trump’s judges came to dominate the federal courts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy8iiC2Mqso
Ron Paul warmed us of the consequences of speeding and inflation.
The fact that our judges are appointed by people whose entire jobs is to obtain power and maintain that power is the problem. Politicians should not be able to determine the judges of our court systems.
I can tell you now scenario 3 not going to happen.
Three possible outcomes? Win, lose or tie. Both houses is a win or a loss for one team or another. A split is a tie. The first two are disasters for America. A split is a win for the country simply because than neither side can try to ruin the country by going too far in either direction. An opinion by an unaffiliated voter. Your results may vary.
All u guys ever do is bash republicans
Still can’t get Over Biden cheating in the last election 😂
welp lookin like scenario two
Please make a video on what happened with New York and California during the midterms !
Results are in, Democrats won the senate and Republicans won the house
rep won the house
Looks like the house is republican and the senate is democrats. Scenario #2
Scenario #2 became reality
More like a refreshing blue wave instead of a hot suffocating "red wave" 😂😂😂
Vox are authoritarians. If you needed any confirmation, just watch this video. They don’t like our Check and Balances, they just want a one-party rules all system.
Scenario 2 just happened.
man the graphics and the aesthetic of vox gets me very time… i mean don't have the same views as vox or liberals but man i love watching every bit of it.💞💞
Funny that they would forget the only scenario which actually ended up happening 🙂
The most perplexing thing is why Republicans are so much against abortion. Seems like a black spot on progressive USA. There are so many countries with conservative governments, '3rd world' counties, Islamic/Christian/Buddhist/Hindu country(ies) that legalize abortion. Feels like an archaic miindset.
If conservatives and liberals here would differ on points like trade, market etc. it'll make so much more sense, but conservatives sticking to 'pro-life', pro-gun issues, seems dated.
the democrats are just as big as a fraud as the republicans are
THIEVES MAMA IS ONE WITH MAMA NATURE THESE ARE NOT YOUR LANDS TO GIVE TI MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE NOT CREATED IN MAMA SPIRIT
Ian, $50 will deal with that skin tag as though it was never there.
Basically as a result, it’s scenario 2 (until ‘25)
0:37 – why the republicans couldn’t win the Senate only?
#2 was correct
It's weird that the situation they didn't cover ended up happening lol
Trump was bad . Biden is worse.
Can you make another video, explaining the situation now that the results are available? Really benefitted from watching this video and understanding the different scenarios. Thank you! @vox
A month later and I wasnt paying attention.
Which one ended up happening?
Of course, there is the third party candidate, which is a huge hulking 500 mile wide planet killer asteroid that can strike Earth and end it all
Im rewatching this cause last Time the house of rep. Was like It Is right now, was pre civil war.
US elections: alright, we got a democratic Stalin and a republican hitler, and a few third party dudes that are gonna get like no votes. Also everyone is going to tear each other to shreds if either of them win. Oh, did we mention both republican and democratic candidates are horrible people?
😂
You guys missed the scenario where democrats kept the house but lose the senate
Trump 2014 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙌
6:21
0:07 no if you vote in DC or territories
