This channel makes me laugh so much, all the speaking in lofty tones, the sense of superiority, talking around in circles about nothing.
Well if your comms grid kicks off with”I am going to subject the poorest pensioners to a 23 page means test so I can take £300 a year away from Jeremy Paxman “ you deserve to be laughed at.
Utter toss! Her politics didn’t suit and Sir Starmer plummeted in the polls.
So..Sue was a bit..gray, politically. 😂
How hopeless are the Conservatives that they can't even gerrymander their own elections? Just as well seeing as how the wheels are so rapidly coming of the new Labour government.
Yes, please keep Andrew Marr away from making all his silly but insistent predictions and prognostications. He was so sure that Cleverly would be THE candidate for the leadership and that Starmer would be THE modern Attlee, delivering a huge programme of reform. Marr might call himself an eternal optimist but there's no point in claiming he can look into the future when he clearly can't. As I said, keep him away.
I think most of us knew what Duffield really meant give that 'problem with women' comment.
I’m sure Sue Gray is celebrating. Imagine going in to work with McSweeney and the other truth twisters and non-entities at Labour HQ
Is McSweeney related to the Derry Girls star?
Scapegoating Sue Gray….the cowardly Labour Party.
Starmer should get in Alastair Campbell
When you said Labour was celebrating- it was a celebration for Black History, they were not celebrating the Tories candidates- this is how news gets twisted.
Probably couldn't hide the bribes properly
3rd rate New Labour this cabinet
Labour also celebrated the election in 1975 of Margaret Thatcher as Leader of the oppostion, seeing her as unelectable. She became Prime Minister four years later. Labours misplaced smug complacency will probably bite them in the arse again.
Excuses and wishful thinking from Starmers client 'journalists'.
What's surprising is the lack of political awareness by the entire cabinet and Kier Starmer himself.
Good stuff, hopefully this government improves from here on out.
More press-ups would have done it.
I think there’s a lot of misogyny at play in politics.
McCswaney is a soulless, factional manipulative right winger: a carbon copy of his predecessor, Cummings. He will surely meet the same fate once Starmer’s already feeble government comes crushing down. And a mighty good thing too.
Fleet Street getting there own back for going against the King ( Boris )
6:20 – "Acres of column inches" isn't a mixed metaphor because both 'acres' and 'column inches' are units of area. (Also, because it's not a metaphor 😃)
Wish all political content was like this. Informative without having a hidden agenda. The journos here have great insider knowledge. Could listen to these guys all day.
There is a serious problem in the UK with our journalistic class framing anything that is not Neo liberal capitalism as policy as “far-left” state ownership of utilities and infrastructure is centrist at most.
These hacks have no clue. Detached from reality and trapped in the party political Westminster bubble. Their analysis is almost as bad as Starmers political choices
Thanks yet again for your excellent insights. No 10 definitely needs a great front- man (or woman) with a grip on that Blair/campbell Grid and it’s been clearly missing so far. I’m really sorry about Sue Gray being shuffled about because she seems such a capable woman. She should have been allowed to work in the background, however, carrying out that task of easing things through Whitehall. Perhaps it was a real blunder by Starmer to make her Chief of Staff?
I appreciate George’s enthusiasm for McSweeney – but we’ll have to see, won’t we? Is he going to be a wonderful enabling and encouraging central person in No. 10 or is he, as I fear, another disruptive Dominic Cummings? Starmer needs both a creative go-getter and a supremely competent enabler. It’s the leader’s job to navigate between these and choose horses for courses. Is he up to it, I wonder? Sidetracking a competent enabler in favour of a flashy politician so early on makes me doubt his grander vision.
It all comes down to that lack of direction so far: is it a government genuinely for the people (Rayner) or is it a government for the Treasury (Reeves)? What does Starmer really want?
she betrayed the tories and joined labours government and her son is a labour MP but she was "not political enough" what a crock
I should say who ever the tories pick game is up for queer gear kier and robin Rachel by most voters ,who feel conned by the labour shower defiantly not ready for Government
Hi,
Please can you share the link to the 'You ask us' re comms grid?
Many thanks.
I'd hoped SPADs would be seen as less critical in this new gov.
They love calling everything far left. McSweeney is a crook and far right.
Politics, like everything else in Britain is about amaturism,so nothing is ever surprising. Political thought only ever reaches a depth of three inches, it's never much about winning—or achieving
Sue Gray
Asked for more pay
Was told not to stay
Retired from the fray
Elbowed out by Mac SWEENAY 😂
Even Sue Grey could not stand to see the sight of 2T Gear kier any more preening his self, what strength ,champion of sleaze maybe
There are NO responsible people in the Tory Party. Why does nobody admit to that bare fact?
They probably mean that she has
a conscience. R
As a foreigner this looks like amateurs taking over from amateurs.
The apologetic "but the oppsotion is worse" nonsense does not fool anyone when change is needed and expected.
