Mississippi State College’s Fred Carl Jr. Small City Heart will work with the communities on their particular tasks.
Eleven Mississippi communities are receiving Small City Revitalization program grants to assist tasks starting from grasp plans to pocket parks to avenue artwork to retail hubs and extra.
Mississippi State College’s Fred Carl Jr. Small City Heart introduced the awards this week, the funding for which got here by means of a federal appropriation supported by U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith.
The 11 communities receiving the grants are:
Booneville
Carthage
Columbia
Eupora
Falcon
McComb
Pascagoula
Ripley
Saltillo
Tunica
Water Valley
Small City Heart Director Leah Kemp mentioned in an announcement that MSU will work with the chosen communities to design and implement their proposed tasks.
“We’re grateful for the chance to serve our state and are humbled that our longstanding file of service to our communities has been entrusted to hold out this job,” Kemp mentioned.
Kemp known as the funding “a game-changer for the Small City Heart and communities throughout the state.”

About Mississippi State College’s Small City Heart
The Fred Carl Jr. Small City Heart is a analysis heart housed in MSU’s School of Structure, Artwork and Design. Since 1979, the middle has labored to offer significant design and planning options for small cities.
In line with the college, the middle has partnered with nationwide organizations through the years, together with the Nationwide Endowment for the Arts, the Nationwide Endowment for the Humanities, the Appalachian Regional Fee, the Fannie Mae Basis, the Nationwide Park Service, the Nationwide Belief for Historic Preservation, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Mississippi Improvement Authority, amongst others.
